Hugh Jackman is practically unrecognizable in his role of Blackbeard in Pan, a 2015 fantasy film that puts a new twist on the classic Peter Pan tale. This movie tells the origin story of Peter Pan and Captain Hook well before J. M. Barrie’s well-known Peter and Wendy. When Peter Pan gets taken aboard a flying pirate ship, he meets Blackbeard, the ship’s captain, who uses fairy dust from Neverland to keep himself from aging. After being forced to walk the plank, Peter Pan winds up in Neverland and begins to form his Lost Boys crew and eventually meets his arch-nemesis, Captain Hook.

This movie is very entertaining, even if you only get a kick out of seeing Hugh Jackman play an antagonist with ridiculous facial hair. In addition, you can see Levi Miller play Peter Pan, Rooney Mara play Tiger Lily, and Garrett Hedlund as Captain Hook.
